On Tuesdays, we will share helpful tips to make your experience at VCU easier and more enjoyable. Each week, a new tip will be added to the list, so check back here, as well as follow our social media for updates!

  1. Printing at Cabell – Don’t have a printer? At James Branch Cabell Library, students have access to printing, scanning, copying and faxing for a few cents per page. Don’t forget to bring your VCU ID, as theses services are purchased with RamBucks or your VCUCard.   2. VCU RAM Guide – VCU RAM Guide has individual guidebooks for New Student Orientation, Move In, Welcome Week and more! You can download it from the Apple or Google Play app store.

  3. VCU Alerts – Are you signed up for VCU Alerts? Students and parents can sign up for VCU’s text message alert system to receive immediate information about campus emergencies, weather delays and cancellations. It’s a great way to always be in the know about what’s going on, on campus. Go to the main VCU login page to subscribe, or visit https://alert.vcu.edu/signup/index.php for more details.

  4. Registering Bikes and Computers – You can register your bike and computer with VCU Police. Having a record of your property will help VCU Police recover it easier, should it ever be stolen. For more information on how to register and mark your property safely, visit the VCU Police website. https://police.vcu.edu/services/

  5. How to call RamSafe – Need to get across campus at night? RamSafe is the point-to-point evening transportation service dedicated for VCU students, faculty and staff. The program runs between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. and provides free transportation to on-campus buildings and residence halls, all you need to bring is your VCU ID. You can request a RamSafe by calling 804-828-7233 or using the RamSafe App.

  6. Campus Connector App – Traveling from Monroe Park to MCV? Download the VCU Transloc app to keep track of the campus connector. The app lets you know estimated arrival times of shuttles, as well as closet pick up points to your location!Campus Connector App
  7. VCU RAMBikes – VCU RamBikes is your campus resource guide for biking enjoyment and safety at VCU. Free services offered by RAMBikes include bike safety classes, maintenance clinics and group rides. In need of repair? They’ve got you covered there as well, with free flat repair, brake repair, hardware tightening, bike rentals and more. Visit https://bikes.vcu.edu/ for more!locked up ram bikes
  8. Reserving Study Space – Did you know you can reserve a room in the library? It’s easy! Just click on “Reserve a Room” at the VCU Libraries homepage. There, you can select from any of available study rooms.   9. The Well  – The Wellness Resource Center at VCU is dedicated to fostering a healthy campus environment. They produce Stall Street Journal, found in every bathroom around campus, as well as provides resources and tips for students having trouble with mental health, recovery, eating and nutrition, and much more.
