A Look Back at VCU Welcome Week 2018!

The tradition of VCU Welcome Week continued this year, bringing together both new and existing students together for nine days full of social activities, educational sessions and student involvement opportunities as they are introduced to the VCU community.

Here are some of the highlights from VCU Welcome Week 2018!

Water Wars @ Rec Sports Night – VCU students brought in the new school year at Cary Street Field, participating in soccer and football games, water balloon fights, water slides, T-Shirt giveaways and free King of Pops!

Block Party: This year, Block Party events were moved inside the due to weather. Although the location was changed, Ram spirit stayed the same. Held in the University Student Commons, live music was provided by DJ Lady Syren. New students received free T-Shirts and were invited to the Commons for a free dinner. RAMTech employees handing out food and refreshments to students at The CompassCompass Cookout: RamTech and Technology Support Services welcomed students to the Fall 2018 semester at the Monroe Park Campus Compass. Students enjoyed food, a live DJ, lawn games, tech demos, free gifts and prize drawings! See more photos from Compass Cookout here.

VCU staff members enjoy food at 12 Street Fest

12th Street Fest: Students enjoyed free food and activities during 12th Street Fest, a festival-style event designed to promote excitement and school spirit around the upcoming academic year. View more photos from 12th Street Fest here.

Student Organization Fair: Students had the opportunity to learn about getting involved at VCU with one of the 500+ registered organizations here on campus. Members and leadership were set up at tables in the Commons Plaza speaking with interested students and full of pride for their organizations!
